This is my first photo shoot and I’m kind of nervous.

It's completely natural to be nervous about a portrait session or photo shoot. I’m always available for open and honest dialogue about initial concerns. In fact it’s one of the first things we will talk about before even stepping foot in front of a camera.

What should I wear?

This is a very layered question. Certain patterns and colors don’t appear as well on camera as others and I always provide a basic clothing guide during our initial discussion. Beyond that I always like my clients to wear what they are most comfortable in or to bring an outfit that demonstrates what they want to express in the final images.

Can I wear glasses?

Yes you can! As someone who wore glasses for most of my life I understand that they can be as much a part of you as any other accessory. Slight adjustments to head position, lighting position, camera angle, and post-processing can ensure glasses aren’t an issue.

How many pictures will I receive?

The amount of edited images you will receive depends on the type and length of photo shoot you have scheduled, but at minimum you can expect 10-15 edited images from my standard packages. As we discuss what your personalized portrait session looks like I will be able to give you a better idea of how many photos you will receive.

Do you deliver unedited RAW image files?

I don’t deliver unedited RAW image files. While my photography style involves getting the in-camera image as close to my final edit as possible there are many artistic choices that happen after the button is pushed.

What if I don't know what poses to do?

I love when clients come with ideas for what they want out of their photo session but if you don’t that’s not a problem at all. We will talk about the types of images you want before the portrait session and, as someone who loves a good list, I will make sure we don’t miss a thing during your photo shoot.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! As long as the location has enough space it’s not a problem at all to bring along a friend or family member.

What kind of editing style do you typically use?

I aim to edit for natural skin tones most importantly. I follow this up with a discussion about art direction for your individual portrait session. Are you aiming for your images to have a moodier feel or are you hoping to have bright pops of color and vibrance? These are all directions we will discuss before your individual photo session. One thing I don’t do is apply a standard color correction filter to all my images regardless of the art direction.
